Well, that was surprising.

I just ripped 1,500 words out of my head for a flash fiction call-for-submissions and I have no idea where it really came from. Unless it came from the part of my brain that would eagerly write something, anything for the Weird Tales website. And get paid for it: let us not forget that. Ever.

If it doesn’t sell, I’ll probably put it up here. I don’t know where else I’d put it, honestly: it’s pretty market-specific. But, anyway, that’s what I did this morning and early afternoon.

  1. Linky no worky.
But I tracked down what you were talking about.
A flat $25 isn’t much, but the bragging rights of being published by Weird Tales (albeit only online) are beyond price.

And holy crap, Johnathan Maberry is now charting the course for the magazine?

I’ve got a concept, and a voice. But can I shoehorn it in at under 1500 words? We’ll have to see.

    1. Oh, I’m sorry. I did see the website, but I didn’t see anything in it that was useful for the call for submissions, so I didn’t add it to the post. My bad. And, yeah, bragging rights are the draw for me too, here. 🙂
