This week, I learned that my kids prefer the artificiality and artifacts of autotune, to someone who can sing clean.
Then I realized that everything “Pop” has been that way for a quarter of a century. (It was dominant before the engineer maxed the sliders with Cher, and thought “that’s a cool effect”.)
Why wouldn’t they prefer it, when it’s what they hear, all the time?
I’m trying to figure out how to detox them. (In a way that will produce the least rebellion.)
I dunno. Start ’em off on Guitar Hero, so they can find out that playing instruments can be fun even if you’re not perfect?
Always a good time.
Have fun!
