Some ELI5 discussions on Reddit are actually pretty good too, and only half of the time do they devolve into shouting matches.
A woman leading policemen in a large, urban police department in 1934? Color me skeptical. I get the impression that “1934” will only apply to the shape of the automobiles and the quality of communications.
I’m actually quite egalitarian when it comes to women’s roles in society. The problem is taking presentism and jamming it into a show like a red-hot poker into a tender orifice. It doesn’t look good and leaves a lingering odor.
