Boom?

Kinda maybe BOOM. This is pushing my self-defined limits for my site, I know, but the concrete policy changes are just too potentially far-reaching for me to ignore. I also get that none of these people are inherently trustworthy. There’s no guarantee that any of this will happen. Then again, given the current circumstances, there’s no guarantee it won’t happen, either.

  1. To quote the Sacred Prophetess of Fifth Babylon: “No boom *today*. Boom tomorrow. Always Boom tomorrow.”

  2. I’m far too untrusting. The problems have been known for years and all of the sudden, he’s aware of them and changing policy?

  3. I’m very glad to hear all of that.

    But I don’t trust him.

I hope that spending four years LARPing as the barkeep in Goodfellas has caused a true conversion.

  4. There’s been a change in the wind and this comes about because of that change. Whether or not I trust the people involved I do trust that they will continue to adjust their sails according to both the direction of the wind and it’s strength. This may yet be one occasion where Vicar of Bray instincts work in favor of the good guys. πŸ™‚

    1. As Milton Friedman once said, “It must be made politically profitable for bad men to choose the right thing.”

  5. Says the guy who made BookFace so bros could rate how hot the girls at university were. We going back that far Zuck?

  6. Community Notes gets attention. People look, read, and discuss. I noted elsewhere that things that draw eyeballs and hold attention are high value.
