This is a great headline:
27% of communication by members of Congress is taunting, professor concludes
Short, sweet, to the point, and funny: it tells you something that you already knew, but you want to read the article anyway. This is a headline made out of win.

PS: I would have guessed higher, too: but then, that might cut into all that time that certain politicians spend telling the world how awesome they are.
My only problem is, is they didn’t break it out by partisan affiliation. They included an equal number of anecdotes (Cantor’s taut observation doesn’t reach the level of taunt, IMHO), but failed to break it down any further than *overall*, even when they sampled 3 of each, they only reported the 20% *total*.
This being the WaPo, I suspect any further relevant detail wouldn’t help them put their thumb firmly on the scales with their favored politicians, as they are wont to do.(cough) macaca (cough).
But maybe I’m just cynical.
