See, this is the sort of thing that is behind me trying to get this Patreon thing up and running: new and exciting ways for me to acquire specialized literature.
‘The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.’
So begins Howard Phillips Lovecraft’s “Supernatural Horror in Literature,” one of the most important treatises on horror ever written. Yet while countless acolytes have created works based on Lovecraft’s fiction, never before has a collection taken its inspiration directly from the literary manifesto behind the entire Mythos… until now.
…It’s called Letters to Lovecraft, and if you haven’t read yet the short story collections that Stone Skin Press have put out already then I heartily suggest that you do so. I got in on the Kickstarter for most of them, and they were most nifty. Presumably this book will be of similar quality.
