  1. I don’t know what is to whine about. I will say that this has been one of the more celebratory St. Paddy’s Days in quite a while. Started at a concert by some friends of ours, one of whom was a national dulcimer champion, that ended with them teaching us Ceili dancing. The next day we went to Denver and attended a concert by The Chieftains with the Colorado Symphony Chorale, the Michael Collins Pipe Band, and the Wick School of Irish Dancing. That ended with the entire audience involved with a Breton [Brittany is one of the 7 Nations of Celtia] “Snake Dance”.

Being Chinese and German [and married into the Highland Clan MacPherson] it may seem odd that I attend Scottish and Irish gatherings. But I spent my career wearing a badge, fighting Darwin and subduing felons. The people you meet at Celtic gatherings [and Chinese, and German] are generally good people with no hostile intent in mind. These are family oriented gatherings, and while there may be a wee bit of drunkenness and stupidity, it is usually controlled by the people there and no one gets hurt. It is a sharing of joy, not a claim of superiority. I like it.
