How useful: http://www.rot13.com/ will take your text and do a simple transposition cipher (13 ahead, so ‘a’ becomes ‘n’ and ‘n’ becomes ‘a’). Perfect for spoiler discussions: people can talk about the new movie or game all they like, but unless you happen to be one of those people who can instantly transpose ciphertext in your head you have to choose to read the spoiler text. Very nice, very nice. I like it.

There are a couple of nice Chrome plugins that allow you to select text, right-click and select “rot13”, and the rext is decoddd in-place.
I used to do the daily cryptoquote in my head. Not instantly but in a couple of minutes. Long out of practice on that, though. Of course, the cipher changed daily, too…
Back when Usenet still ruled, it was common for newsreaders to have an option to redisplay the current message rot13’d. It was good for spoilers and for raunchy/offensive jokes.
