So, hey, running around and making sure that the spare room is neat and gibbering silently at the state of the kids’ bathroom; you know how this stuff goes. Still, always nice to have family members over, even if it’s just for a few days. Good practice for talking to adults, if nothing else.
No, seriously. There was a couple of years there where I had completely forgotten how to make vocal small talk with people over the age of five. It was terrifying, in its way. Especially when I caught myself avoiding situations where I would have to talk to adults, because of the social awkwardness involved. Thank God for roleplaying games, that’s all I can say.
The “arts” part of the brain is totally different from the “normal speech” side. Hamming it up can be quite useful to those of us with communication issues or outright stutters.
