I’m not going to lie: HAUNTED MANSION does not look bad to me. It has the virtue of a cast that doesn’t care about its collective dignity, and I’m not going to pretend that I don’t want to see a movie with Danny DeVito and Owen Wilson in it. I do. It appeals.

I know, I know: it’s based on a theme park ride. The thing was, so was PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. So I can’t just assume that HAUNTED MANSION’s gonna be bad, right out the gate*. It might be fun.
