Not because Margaret Murray’s The Witch Cult In Western Europe is correct. No, because it is not. This is one of those books that influenced a lot of horror writers who influenced the horror writers we read today. Unfortunately, either most of those people apparently could read French and German; or they did what I’m going to do, and skip over the foreign-language parts because those parts are probably saying the same things as the parts in English anyway.
Besides, for a buck and a half I can just toss anything I do need to translate into Google.
