New Romney ad: “Revenge, or Love of Country.”

From those who missed it: the commercial is cut from two rallies yesterday:

The Republican nominee — who addressed a crowd approaching 25,000 people, the largest of his campaign — was referring to a comment made by the president during a rally in Springfield Ohio earlier in the day, after the crowd began to boo when he mentioned Romney’s name. “No, no, no, Don’t boo. Vote,” Obama told the audience. “Voting is the best revenge.”

Romney, who has been portraying Obama as a divisive leader in his stump speech of late, used the comments to highlight his point.

“Did you see what President Obama said today? He asked his supporters to vote for revenge,” he said, pausing and then repeating the line for emphasis. “For revenge. Instead, I ask the American people to vote for love of country.”

Three days until election day. Mitt Romney for President.

New Romney-Ryan ad: “Secretary of Business.”

As Hot Air notes: when somebody tosses you a softball like this, you go ahead and hit it.

I forget who pointed this out first, but we already have a “Secretary of Business:” it’s called the Secretary of Commerce, only we actually haven’t had one since June.  The last guy (John Bryson) resigned for medical reasons in June, and the President hasn’t bothered to try to get a new one because Obama was apparently busier working on more important things, like Big Bird.  And that tells you the priorities of this administration, right there.

Home stretch, folks.  Get your game faces on and get ready to rock and roll… what’s that?  Oh, yes, if you prefer to polka you may do so as well.  We will even stretch the point and permit getting jazzed up.  But no waltzes, please.  Too slow.

Comparing the instincts of Mitt Romney to those of Barack Obama.

Class is what you show when you’re not thinking about it*.

This is what Romney-Ryan thinks is important enough to mention in the last two weeks of the campaign. It is the latest email that I have received from the campaign.

Stay safe, give to the Red Cross, and GET THOSE ROMNEY-RYAN SIGNS INSIDE!  High winds will turn them into deathtraps!

Did the Left’s panicked response to first debate make things worse for Obama?

Jonathan Last has an interesting thought:

[H]ere’s my question: Imagine a world in which, during and after the debate, the left didn’t have a collective, public freak out. In other words, a world in which a still-functional Journolist-type of operation was able to corral lefty elites and get them into something like a coherent message instead of having them set themselves on fire over Twitter. Imagine if they had gotten some message discipline and taken a line more like Republican heads did after the second and third debate–Yes, our guy probably lost this on points, but this was a strong performance and blah-blah-blah.

Would it have made any difference? The debate would still be the debate, and the insta-polls would have been the same. But if Chris Matthews and Andrew Sullivan and their fellow travelers hadn’t micturated on the carpet in public panic, would the story out of the Denver debate been anything more than, Strong performance by Romney, Obama needs to up his game.

I’m pretty sure that @barackobama didn’t want to evoke George McGovern, here.

See for yourself.  Here’s Obama’s  “Closing (negative) argument“:

…annnnnnnd here’s McGovern’s frantic begging.

The similarities, while not one-t0-one, are too great to simply ignore.  Including the most damning one: both Obama and McGovern, after a certain point in their respective elections, seemed to have tacitly accepted that they were losing.

PS: Expand the map.

Expanding the map: GOP moves to lock down ME-02.

Essentially, the Restore Our Future Super PAC* will be putting in a 300K ad buy in that market over the next week. It’s a twofer: first, it helps blanket New Hampshire, which is one place where Obama for America is currently frantically trying to shore up its latest firewall.  Second, it covers… ME-02.  Recent partisan polling is showing Romney ahead, there: and since Maine is one of two states where some of its Electoral Votes are distributed by who wins its Congressional Districts, well.  It’s apparently worth 300K to explore the possibility.

If you’re wondering: yes, the state legislature did make ME-02 more competitive this go-round for Republicans, but not by all that much.  Truth is, if somebody else besides Obama was on the ticket this EV would probably be out of reach.  Fortunately, Obama is on the ticket.

PS: We do have a guy in ME-02: Kevin Raye.  He certainly wouldn’t mind your support.

*Which is, like ALL Super PACs on both sides of the contest, completely independent of the parent campaign.  Completely.
