The MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN Season Two trailer.

I don’t care. I liked MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN. I’ll watch Season Two, sure.

Looks like we’re getting a pre-bald Lex Luthor and a Supergirl this season. Interesting: I remember reading as a kid the version of Luthor’s origin story where he got that way because he grew up with Superman in Smallville and they were friends. Only, there was an experiment that went wrong, Luthor lost all his hair, and then vowed revenge. It’d be pretty funny if that’s what happens here, too.

Just caught up on MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN.

There are two things that you will need to understand about MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN (you can find it on HBOMax*):

  1. It is anime. I mean, it is really anime. There’s absolutely nothing salacious or disturbing in it, at least so far: but the characters and tropes both draw heavily from the genre.
  2. The three main characters are all in their early twenties. Superman in particular is still learning his suite of powers; he’s by no means incompetent, but this is the part of his story where he gains experience. The show is also not wasting time on setting up the romance. Lois and Clark have been mutually crushing on each other from the start, instead of the usual trope where she focuses her romantic inclinations on Superman first.
