Gov. Susana Martinez (R, NM) is not impressed with Donald Trump.

Yeah, I think that New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez has no intention of letting Trump inject a brain slug into her cerebral cortex:

New Mexico’s Susana Martinez, chairwoman of the Republican Governors Association, did not mince words: She told the crowd of about 60 wealthy GOP backers that, as a Latina, she was offended by Trump’s language about immigrants. Noting her years working as a prosecutor on the Mexico border and now as a border-state governor, Martinez said Trump’s plan to build a wall and force Mexico to pay for it was unrealistic and irresponsible, according to multiple people in attendance.

Not that I really expected her to, because I have a basic respect for Susana Martinez, and I’ve generally found that Trump’s support among politicians typically draws heavily from the ones that I don’t have a basic respect for. It’s downright uncanny. Almost frightening: I mean, if I was the sort to be paranoid I’d be maybe thinking that it was being done deliberately. Which, obviously, it’s not.

So, Gary King’s (D CAND, New Mexico-GOV) hired a fascinating fellow to be his campaign manager.

I wonder if anybody bothered to tell Gary King to always do oppo on your own people, too.

The new campaign manager for the Democrat challenging New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez (R.) has a history of derogatory tweets towards women and offensive comments against Republicans.

Gary King, New Mexico’s attorney general who won the Democratic primary to challenge Martinez earlier this month, announced the hiring of Steve Verzwyvelt on Monday.

Dear God: please make Hispanic-basher Alan Webber Susana Martinez’s opponent. Amen.

That would be, like, absolutely perfect, thanks.

“So I’m asking you for your help, we need to make Susana Martinez a one-term governor. We need to send her back to wherever she really came from,” says [Alan] Webber in a video obtained by The Weekly Standard.

New Mexico Attorney General Gary King’s (Democrat) …links… to stolen emails.

Oh man but this is going to throw a spanner into the works for Democrats in New Mexico next year.

Executive summary: Jamie Estrada, former campaign manager for Susana Martinez (now the Republican governor of New Mexico), is accused of stealing* emails from her campaign account and passing them along to Democratic operative (and accused pedophile[**]) Jason Loera. Loera is likewise accused of passing along selected emails to Democratic state chair Sam Bregman, who then used those emails in at least one court case. Loera and Bregman are linked – the former consulted for the latter – and at this point, well.  The whole thing is getting quite close to New Mexico Attorney General (and Democrat) Gary King. Meet New Mexico’s liberal Tim Keller, before he becomes fake-moderate Tim Keller.

Well, let us not ignore the upcoming election cycle simply because the Obama administration has decided to go utterly mad this week. Below for your dubious delectation is a video from the New Mexico Republican party on one Tim Keller, who is being pushed out as a stealth liberal challenger to Governor Susana Martinez next year. I say “stealth” because – well, watch:

Short version of the video: Keller is trying out the moderate pro-business line, which is clashing horribly with his tendency to see anti-union conspiracies under the bed that he’s made with Moveon.org (and the zombie remnants of the Occupy movement). Couple that with the fact that Keller’s an anti-digital education Luddite who hates school choiceContinue reading Meet New Mexico’s liberal Tim Keller, before he becomes fake-moderate Tim Keller.

Diane Denish (D CAND, NM-GOV) smeared by own attack ad?

The very short version: the NEA put up an attack ad for Denish and against frontrunner Susana Martinez that featured a teacher who proceeded to badmouth Martinez’s education strategy. The only problem? Martinez happens to have been the prosecutor who put said teacher’s husband away for 23 years for kidnapping – something that was not exactly brought up in the first campaign ad, and which certainly calls into question the true source of the teacher’s ire. Naturally, the Martinez campaign is taking advantage of this mistake:
