OK. This is funny: “Zachary Quinto is following in Leonard Nimoy‘s footsteps again and is set to host a new UFO series for The History Channel called In Search Of. The series is basically a revival of Rod Serling and Leonard Nimoy’s 1970s series of the same name which saw the hosts examine unexplained phenomena all over the world.” I mean, sure, it’s a pseudoscience show. And it’s a gimmick show. And it’s yet another revival of an old intellectual property. But it’s a gimmick AND a revival AND a pseudoscience show! I admire the thoroughness that the History Channel showed in avoiding having to come up with an original idea, here.
No, really. I’m a honest man; I can admit it when somebody’s managed to tactically surprise me. It never would have occurred to me to cast the guy playing Spock now in the role that the guy who used to play Spock had while he was taking a break from playing Spock. I totally have to respect that particular ploy.
