I imagine that this is how a unreformed junkie feels.

You look at it, and you know.

You know how this ends: with you in a dark room, ready to go bang the gong again.  You can tell yourself stories.  But you know that you aren’t strong enough to hold out. Just once more, for old time’s sake.  What’s the harm?  I’m not that person anymore.  Only… you are.  And you’re about to go prove it to everyone.

It is… your destiny.

[PS: I should note, by the way, that it’s almost certainly not an official trailer. We know this because it hasn’t saturated, and I am using that term in as literally a sense as I can, the Internet.]

  1. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, shame on both of us. I resolved a while back that there wouldn’t be a fourth time.

    Resolve…weakening…

  2. the animated parts of it looked like they came from Star Wars: The Old Republic, but, yeah, I’ll be there opening night. If they do a local charity show I might do the week before thing like I did for Ep 2.

  3. I can quit any time I want.
Actually, I already did, and utterly refused to watch 2 of the 3 prequels.

    That said…
I really like the taste Abrams has displayed in the projects I’ve seen. The recent Disney Star Wars cartoons are danged good, and show that they “get” the franchise.
I’m going to have to see it. Maybe not opening night. But within a week of it opening.
