Dear Republican party:

Please start taking this election cycle seriously. I understand that normally there would be another week of silly-season planned, but circumstances are such that we will need to wrap that up early. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you in advance.

  1. At this point, I’m convinced the GOP can’t find it’s arse with both hands and a map with clear directions. All I can do is try to find the humor in it’s uncoordinated flailing…..

    Are we having fun yet?

(FTR, I’ve been told often enough that pro life, RKBA conservatives are problematical and no longer welcome in the GOP that I no longer self-identify as Republican. I’ll vote for the ‘right’ candidate….Let’s see him/her get nominated. I won’t be holding my breath)

    1. The pile of dead Democratic party careers stretches from Bangor to San Diego (we won that mayor’s race, remember?) and many a point in between. I and the Republican party are having a great time. The best part is, everybody thinks that we’re screw-ups! That absolutely [expletive deleted] them in Kansas last year! It was awesome!

  2. I daresay they are.

By this time in the cycle, they’ve normally managed to establish a narrative that the candidates I favor are ineffectual and out-of-touch.
It’s called the silly season, but shiving season is more accurate.

It’s so nice to see the shoe on the other foot.
    I’m enjoying it immensely.

  4. Perhaps, Jeb, Ted, Bobby, and Scott should all stop parroting Trump and move on to more serious topics ( seriously Birthright citizenship is the hill to die on now?)

Jeb just lost the Asian vote ( which is actually the one major Demographic BO won in 2012 that used to vote overwhelmingly Republican)
Only Rubio so far has kept to his own narrative instead of dancing to Trump’s tune, which makes me reconsider his position on my short list ( and probably a lot of Big Donors are getting ready to jump ship, too bad they blew their money on Jeb before hand and are probably hurting due to the stock exchange craze going on).

    1. I always figured on the big money types moving on to Rubio once they admitted Jeb is never going to get a majority of voters in an actual Republican primary to vote for him.

      1. Rubio is a flat out better communicator, has the fire in his belly to win, and ultimately proves the party isn’t just about “old white” men who went to the right schools.
The only reason for not supporting Rubio I can see is that Rubio is too conservative for them.
Keep in mind I’m not supporting Rubio but if there is any candidate that the electability argument works its Rubio.

        1. I could certainly see them trying that.
But Rubio being a true blue supporter of open borders is certain to cause schism.
          He’s passionate.
          He’s sincere.
          And he’s utterly wrong.
Much like Bernie Sanders with respect to economics.

          1. Merely wrong I can live with .. reality will come around with a clue-by-four eventually.
            .
Unwilling to *learn from mistakes* is .. the unforgivable sin, if I may appropriate the term.
            .
Thus far, I have heard *nothing* from Rubio that suggests getting into bed with Schumer et al on a terrible immigration idea was, perhaps, not his smartest move …
            .
Therefore, Rubio remains dead to me – if he’s the nominee, I won’t vote GOP for POTUS.
