A PSA for anybody reading this Daily Beast article on Hillary Clinton and guns.

Found here [H/T: Hot Air Headlines, sorry]. Anyway, the article neglects to mention that:

  • The expiration of the so-called ‘assault weapons ban’ had no effect on gun violence in the United States;
  • Gun violence has been steadily declining in the United States for the last twenty years anyway;
  • And Hillary Clinton – like pretty much every other gun control activist out there – has yet to come up with a plan to limit guns that will only target people who break laws.

They also neglect to mention that Vermont has virtually no gun crime, despite the fact that it’s full of hippies with guns, but that’s probably just regular old cognitive dissonance, there.

  1. You’re assuming that they want to target criminals with their gun control agenda.
    There is no evidence to support that.

    1. As counter-evidence, I present… Chicago.
      .
      Chicago hasn’t elected a not-Dem mayor since 1927.
      .
      Chicago (and Illinois) have draconian anti-gun laws.
      .
      Chicago has some of the worst gun violence stats in the country.
      .
      So .. if Dems *really* had a clue about how to fix gun violence, you’d think Chicago would be paradise by now.

      1. I have it on good authority from people from Chicago that it WOULD be a paradise if it wasn’t for all us rednecks in Indiana selling guns willy-nilly. 🙂 If they could just control us too, all the violence would dry up overnight. We just smile and say “Good luck with that.”

        1. When I hear suggestions like that, I ask why the Chicago Police aren’t doing periodic sweeps through the projects and the south side *looking* for illegal guns.. and whether they’d consider calling their alderman and suggesting it.

        2. Yep, there are a bunch of Rednecks in Gary, IN Totes. ( note for those who are unfamiliar with Gary, its basically Chicago without a viable business district)
          And I’m sure gangbangers routinely drive 60 miles into the middle of nowhere Indiana to buy guns.

          1. It appears the guru was blaming the Chicago politicians who offer Indiana gun laws as an excuse for Chicago gun crime .. not suggesting that Indiana is the actual source.
