And they wonder why people can’t stand them.
The Wadena city council voted unanimously but hesitantly to remove a beloved nativity scene from a city park Tuesday night.
Mayor George Deiss says for as long as anyone in Wadena can remember the nativity scene has been displayed at Burlington Northern Park. It used to be in the band shell, but was moved to the heart of the park last year and caught the eye of a resident.
And you know how this ends: with the Minnesota town removing the scene because it doesn’t want to have a lawsuit. Personally, if I truly believed that there was no afterlife I don’t think that I’d be wasting my lifespan on pissing off my neighbors by screaming about their Christmas creches, but I suppose that that void’s gotta be filled somehow. I mean: if people despise you then that still means you at least exist, right?
Right?
