So, hey, Fallout Nuka World is dropping.

This is not exactly the best time in the month for that, because I have deadlines over the next two days – but, hey, who asked me?  …Then again, this DLC is likely to interfere with my usual Queen of the Girl Scouts play style, so I may be not as involved. I do have to remind myself that there are people who missed the old karma system from Fallout 3

[UPDATE] I may end up getting something up my nose over the entire slave collar thing. I have a problem with stuff like that.

  1. Just a word of warning, if one of the slavers steps on a landmine, they somehow magically know who planted it, and where you are. They’ll all beeline for you.
    .
So if you play it right, they’ll charge into a mine trying to reach you. Then the next will step over the body and into the next mine… I think I only had to shoot three of them.

      1. Do it.

I freely admit that the only reason I went to Paradise Falls was to wipe the slavers off the face of the earth.

It was so nice of the guard to accept a bribe and let me in. I took the caps back from his smoking corpse, of course.

I got an awful lot of positive karma from premeditated mass murder.

        1. So nice to know I wasn’t the only one who did that .. although, being myself, I set up a sniper nest and killed as many of the ones hanging around outside *first* ..

        2. Yeah, I forgot about those guys. I switched from F3 to FNV when my F3 character was 4th level, so I figured that at that point it was beyond my powers. Now that I’m mucking about with F3 again, I gotta put that one on the to-raze list.

          1. But oh, Lord, the Legion. Every time I wanted to gamble I’d go out, let one of their kill squads find me, and then convert the money looted from their corpses to chips because I wasn’t going to gamble with MY money.

          2. For bonus points, get legion and NCR factions’ murder squads chasing you …

(bonus points delivered in the form of dropped loot/money)

          3. Yeah. I’m with you Moe on Legion vs. NCR. I just could not do a playthrough where I sided with the Legion. Just too evil, and they didn’t really have anything going for them as far as perks or cool toys. Obsidian did a great job in most areas of that game, but the villian was just not attractive enough to be tempting. House was a different story, though.

          4. That’s the beauty of it, you don’t have to hurt any members of the NCR to thwart the NCR *goals* .. just openly work with the Followers, the Khans, and of course, Mr. House.. and they’ll declare war on you.

  2. Well, have fun in the Theme Park. I’ll be over in The Broken Isles, tracking down bits of an ancient artifact and trying to thwart The Legion. This expansion is going to kill me. 13 different class hall quest chains, all with juicy little bits of lore stuff. “You know, they say he wrested that staff away from the Lich King’s very grasp…” “Say, look who just showed up in my Class Hall…” I’m going to be bouncing from alt to alt to alt.
