Heh. I lived in Oklahoma City for a year and afterwards I just plain refused to go to anything calling itself even close to a Mexican restaurant, back in Indiana.
Fortunately here in Atlanta we have a Pappasito’s, a small chain where all the other locations are in Texas.
Why, yes. Yes it does. We went to San Antonio in February and I haven’t been able to bring myself to eat Mexican food anywhere in Virginia since.
Now you have my mouth watering. 🙂
But don’t you have great seafood and BBQ?
Mexican food here in California is hit or miss, so I understand your pain.
Where’d you go? Austin has at least a dozen Tex-Mex places that are better than anything you’ll find east of the Mississippi.
I think that it was called Rosario’s: it wasn’t even a special place. Just the closest “decent Tex-Mex place within walking distance of the hotel.”

“Decent.” Ye gods and little fishes.
