I am reminded of Trey Parker’s critique of Lucas, when he and Matt Stone “announced” in the middle of an episode of South Park (“Free Hat,” I think it was) that they were going to release a remastered version of the South Park pilot with Imperial Walkers in the background, because it was true to their original vision. It’s not as much fun to remember that, though, when one sees Lucas doing the same thing to himself, only without the irony.
Funny thing. Just took the kids to Disneyworld. At the Hollywood Studios theme park, the Star Wars themed ride (Star Tours) was shut down while it gets updated into a…. 3D ride.
I wonder how much new crap he’s going to add just to get more 3D flair.
Sadly, I’ll probably go and watch in the theaters. Of course, I won’t bother until Star Wars (Episode IV as they’re now calling it) gets released because 1-3 suck the big one.
