#rsrh QotD, DOOM DOOM DOOMITY DOOM Edition.

Self-explanatory, really:

“It seems to me that Obama is intent on punishing anyone who is employed with a job over minimum wage,” [multi-generation white Ohioan Democrat Rudy] Guy said. “In the last three years, I’ve seen my spendable income drop, my cost for health-care insurance go up, and my benefits go down.

“Three years ago the question was, ‘Are you better off now than when Bush took office?’ Most of us weren’t. But am I better off today than when Obama took office?”

His answer is simple: “No.”

Quick note, though: the proclamation of DOOM does not mean that we’ve got a lock on the Rust Belt/Appalachian/Jacksonian vote just quite yet.  It just means that right now the Obama administration is going down the wrong road with those voters, and accelerating.  So don’t assume victory.

  1. Right now, it seems to me that Mitt Romney’s greatest ally in his campaign is the Obama re-election campaign, which seems intent on doing as many dumb things as possible as quickly as possible……..
    .
    Carry on, then.

  2. Indeed. On-air ‘shut up’ tantrums at MSNBC and Rev. Wright’s mud-slinging are fueling this on the media side. “Thiiis is howww we do iit . . .’

  3. Not to mention the fact that Michelle has accomplished the rare feat of making me feel a little bit sorry for OPRAH. That takes a lot.

  4. Side Note: My brother, a Legacy Dem if ever there was one, isn’t planning to vote this year and from the way he talks he will maybe never again. That to me, more then anything else, will be the O’bama legacy. Losing the voters who thought it was a “Good Thing” to vote Democrat. The ramifications will play out over the next several elections.

  5. My parents who live in Ohio have always voted Democrat (even in 2010). And not only has my dad committed to voting a straight Republican ticket this fall, but even my mom has expressed she will vote for Mitt Romney. I’m hoping Ohio will go red.

  6. @qixlqatl: Isn’t it astonishing? And to think that Team O could do no wrong in 2008…

  7. This is Mitt Romney’s to lose. Obama has fumble the football, let’s see if Romney has the guts to pick it up and run with it.
