Barack Obama tacitly admits Eric Holder is as guilty as sin about Operation Fast & Furious…

…in other words, the former is having the latter stay on as Attorney General.

President Obama is holding on to Eric Holder as the nation’s top law-enforcement official, The Post has learned.

The newly re-elected president asked his controversial attorney general to stay for the second term, and Holder has agreed despite enduring a firestorm of criticism from Republican lawmakers.

Because, of course, now that the election is over Democratic lawmakers no longer need to worry about offending the sensibilities of Mexican-American voters (I’ve had folks argue privately that they never were worried about offending said sensibilities; I see their point, but do not share it). So if you were hoping for any kind of justice, here, stop hoping that the Democrats will be involved.  It’s Issa or nobody, at this point.

Anyway, this should not really be surprising*: apparently, as long as Eric Holder’s in office he can count on the Media covering for him and his refusal to explain why we should believe that Attorney General Holder was too incompetent to notice that American guns were deliberately being allowed to flow across the border to murder Mexican citizens. And it’s far too soon for Obama to issue a pardon. On the bright side, this is also a bit of a holding action; by now the well is so poisoned between the Justice Department and Congress, the water is turning bright green…

…yeah, yeah, I know: not much of a bright side.  What can I say?  Elections have consequences, and this is one of them.  The Obama administration got a lot of Mexicans (and at least one American law enforcement agent) killed, and for right now they’re getting away with it.  Absent more reporters developing a sense of shame or professional pride, our options are limited.

*What’s surprising – at least, to me – was the willingness of the Media to let Eric Holder and Barack Obama get away with bungling American domestic/foreign policy to a point where dead bodies littered the streets.  I freely admit it: I expected better from our journalist class.  I expected basic human decency – and a basic respect for innocent lives – from them.  And what I did not expect was this level of institutionalized racism from the Media.  I cannot make myself feel bad about myself for thinking better of people than they ended up deserving, but I am forced to admit that I was too optimistic.

  1. Dead mexicans and dead ambassedors are not important when they have to protect their master. Obama could have pistol whipped a wheelchair bound autistic bisexual transvestite in the middle of times square and the media would have turned a blind eye

  2. Really? The depth of rot in the press surprised you? If anything, Spegen understates their devotion to The Won.
