Me and my mother are, sadly, estranged. I would like to have a relationship with her, but she is all kinds of crazy (paranoid personality disorder). My sister keeps mailing her a card every year (and she has check to make sure our mom still lives where she is), but she has made no effort to respond to them. If my mother reaches out to my sister, then I will reach out to her.
