Another #obamacare lie revealed: healthcare costs for small business will go UP.

This is not what Barack Obama and his Democrats promised.

Nearly two-thirds of small businesses that currently offer health insurance to their workers will pay more for coverage as a result of new rules in the health care law, as will millions of small-business employees and their family members, according to new estimates released by the Obama administration.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which has spearheaded the implementation of the law, has acknowledged that new rules requiring insurers to offer guaranteed coverage and renewal options to small employers will likely drive up the price of insurance for some companies. So will rules banning insurance companies from varying their rates based on factors like a company’s industry or the age of its employees.

We were promised lower prices and better coverage and more efficiency.  We have received none of these things, and while I understand that the administration does not like being reminded about that the hurt feelings of the Obama administration are not my problem.

This is unacceptable. All of it.

PS: If you’re wondering what my problem actually is, it is that we have a system now where we keep telling cancer patients that they’ve lost their coverage*. And there is no excuse for that, by the way: critics of the law warned Obamacare supporters in August that cancer patients were going to get hammered by the “Affordable Care Act**.”

*It is… heartbreaking… to see how many people on the Left are absolutely desperate to attack any individual who dares puncture their cocoon of denial about the fallout from the new law.  And they no doubt see themselves as decent human beings, too.

**Scare quotes because at least two words in that title are lies, and possibly all three.

  1. It’s hitting big business too. Open Enrollment is starting now for us for the rest of the year. My contribution is now double for the same insurance. One of the nice things about working for a big company has always been the excellent benefits, especially inexpensive healthcare. Now that’s gone. In the presentations, they’re now telling us we have to choose between “needs” and “wants”. If I go with “wants” (same coverage), I take a 5% pay cut. If I go with “needs”, I roll the dice that nobody actually gets sick.

  2. ObamaTax is still an act, like being pillaged by vikings or being trapped in a cotton candy like cocoon by killer klowns is an act, so only the “Patient Protection” and “Affordable Care” portions of the formal title is a lie. So 4 false words, not 3.
