Quote of the Day, Evil Poseurs Can Be Banal, Too edition.

Jim Geraghty, showing just a little bit of understandable weariness towards the complaints of Satanists. Specifically, their being upset at getting ‘vitriolic hate mail:’

“Vitriolic hate mail”? Wait, you aim to perform — I’m sorry, simulate the performance—of a tribute to the embodiment of evil that may or may not include the desecration of the Holy Communion, and you didn’t expect vitriolic hate mail?

Yes, part of your problem is that you’re morally inverted, and part of your problem is that you have no capacity to appreciate or respect a faith that you don’t personally practice. But another big part of your problem is that you’re really, really stupid.

I’d personally say ‘petulant assholes’ – and pardon my language – but I’ll accept ‘really stupid’ as an answer.  Swear to God, I wish that those people would work out their Mommy and Daddy issues on their own freaking time…

  1. Me, personally? I say “stupid petulant assholes.” It’s not like one excludes the other….

  2. Me, I feel offended whenever I hear the phrase Hocus Pocus because it is a corruption, literally and in every sense of the word, of “Hoc Est Corpus Meum”. “This Is My Body”. A part of the black mass is already in common usage.

  3. Shoot, and here I was looking forward to the mass outbreak of Demonic Possessions that would surely occur when they messed up.

    1. How could you tell the difference?
Sloth, pride, envy, vanity, etc. are all already on prominent display.

  4. Quite frankly, I really don’t get why anyone would want to honor the embodiment in the first place. I really think the lot of them had a screw loose (along with a few nuts and bolts).
