Quote of the Day, I’ve Been Saying This Since Late 2009 edition.

Mary Katherine Ham:

In most cases, I have come to realize that the Obama administration is easier to understand if you dispense with the notion that there is some sort of plan other than getting through each day by minimizing immediate political damage to the highest degree possible without regard to long-term goals.

I have found, though, that some people hate hearing this, mostly because it offends them on a basic level that we have an administration that is messing up this country without even showing the rest of us the common courtesy of having an evil plan.  But they don’t have one, folks.  Barack Obama is simply a fairly unformed individual with a galloping case of Ain’t-I-Great? and an IQ in the 125 range.  His staff is mediocre, his Cabinet picks ditto, and they never try to learn from their mistakes.  Just count the days until January 2017, when we will all – Republicans AND Democrats – go home and quietly swear never to speak about this administration again.

I know, I know.  An evil mastermind would be preferable. I’m sorry; it’s not my fault.

  1. Moe,

It is not that he doesn’t want to be an evil mastermind, he does and probably even thinks he is. It is just that he cannot get even that right. Or it interferes with golf, or something…

  2. I think he had a plan initially; it’s just that this plan involved everyone bowing at his feet due to his superior intellect, since that what everyone around him had always done. When confronted with the fact that half the country would actually fight him on stuff, that plan fell apart rather quickly, and he has never been able to come up with a Plan B.

  3. The only thing Barack Obama have permission to do without consulting with Valerie Jarrett is his golf schedule. And we’re seeing the result of that kind of talent.
