The new EPA restrictions are nuts, and not serious, and shameless pandering to a bunch of radical fundamentalist environmentalists. Simple as that. And there’s absolutely no need to pretend that the hardcore advocates of the new regulations deserve to be treated like functioning adults, because frankly they are not. I’ve been poor. I didn’t like being poor. And I’ll be damned if I’m going to be poor again just because some privileged scion of a stunted would-be elitist tree thinks that you can get whatever you want just by wishing hard enough.

What can be done, is the states telling the feds to go to hell and utterly refusing to comply.

Some of them will.
Not enough. And I’m cynical enough to bet that they’ll fall in line once federal funding gets curtailed.
