Carly Fiorina definitely knows how to take useful smacks at the media.

Via comments (and Constant Reader Darin_H) here comes this entertaining smackdown of Katie Couric by Carly Fiorina.

Come, I will conceal nothing from you: we have enough good Presidential candidates already that I feel that we don’t really need to consider the folks who have never actually won an election. But I see an entertaining and useful future for Carly Fiorina in the field of puncturing Hillary Clinton’s rather hyper-inflated reputation. I think that a lot of the people who think that Secretary Clinton is inevitable have not really gotten it through their collective heads yet that the last seven years have demonstrated how well a politician can do when not enough people on either side dare to call him on his nonsense. Hillary Clinton will not have that advantage*.

*Actually, she will not have that advantage because she is a woman. There are any number of female Republican politicians who will be happy to give strong critiques of Clinton’s performance. And that will matter: imagine how much worse Barack Obama might have fared in 2012 if Mitt Romney had had a surrogate like, say, Senator Tim Scott to directly challenge President Obama’s uniqueness. Alas, at the time Tim was just Rep. Scott, so we missed an opportunity there. We won’t miss a similar opportunity in 2016.

  1. more, please. stuff like this is why I wouldn’t oppose someone like Carly Fiorina or Chris Christie, even though they’re far from my favorites. GWB’s biggest flaw was that he treated the media and democrats (but I repeat myself)with too much respect and didn’t call the scum on their disgusting lies. we could definitely do with someone in the spotlight who does.

    1. GWB knew what he was doing. The Media is a sad joke, but the “undecideds”, the people who decide elections, listen to the Press. Just a thing, the two parties being so starkly different, it is the ignorant who choose……

  2. Why do Republicans even give Couric the time of day? Really, they should all treat her like the irrelevant hack that she is.

  3. Ouch.

  4. So … she’s trying out for the Newt Gingrich circa 2012 seat at the debates?

Slicing open hacks and eating their livers is a neat stage trick, no argument .. and it’s one I wish more candidates would learn.
    .
I just don’t think it’s *enough* to take her seriously as a candidate.
