1. Bought, read, enjoyed.

   I will note only that it’s not a “Miles book” (“Memory” is a “Miles book”) and that the conflict, risk, and rewards are all very much on the personal scale ..
   .
   If you need exploding spaceships, this may not be the book for you.

   1. It’s a Bujold book, which is sufficient.

      1. Reading Bujold is a master-class in language use.

         This one is no exception.

         1. In case anyone here missed it: she released a short novel set in the same Five Gods universe as Curse of Chalion last July. It’s called Penric’s Demon. I recommend it.

         2. But she has problematic views on race!
