I will be doing some fiddling with the way I post stuff.

I may start just linking to some of the longer-form stuff that I’m doing on RedState (like so). It’s a hit-count thing; things are going to be heating up for the Presidential election, and I fully expect to be a frazzled mess by the end of it as it is. Crossposting may make me even more frazzled.

Well, that’s the way it goes.

  1. I actually remember when you ran the numbers in that post, Moe. Exactly right. Thought that all along. The YOUNG, who are for the most part, healthy and rarely need even 1 doctor’s visit a year, are going to look at their incomes – if they have one – and easily discern that there isn’t any disposable income to support a bill that could be a car payment or rent payment for them. For others, it’s a mortgage, and people desire shelter immediately vs what might happen, etc. etc. Another kicker to the scheme is the “18-34” age group they thought they’d pull those monies from…Since one can stay on their parent’s insurance until the age of 26, another block of monies collected is cut off.

Of course, all of this wasn’t about healthcare for the uninsured – just ask the homeless, who I work with in a free clinic. We can’t get them anything. AND it isn’t because Virginia didn’t expand Medicaid as McAuliffe whines – the states cannot afford “free” healthcare for all, and as those generous federal dollars dry up after the initial carrot offering by the feds for those state exchanges ends, the states are left adrift on a melting iceberg.

It was about power and control. We now have the government between us and all of our healthcare needs and mgmt.

PS: On your cross-posting, hope you’ll be able to do some for your loyal fans here. 🙂

  2. As long as you set the links to open a new tab, you’ll be all set. I click while still reading, then I’m all “Hey, I was still reading that!” and I have to go back and forth.
