That reminds me of a D&D adventure from my teens, where one of the players rolled up an obviously-cheated Mary Sue of a Cavalier. We walked through a cave and a green slime fell on him. DM asked what we were going to do, and I said “I run away”. Everyone else followed, except the last player said “I go back and put a mirror next to him so he can watch himself dissolve”.
