…except that the 280 character thing is a symptom of a problem, rather than the problem itself. Twitter’s actual problem is — oh, geez, where do I start? It sucks at making money, for one thing. And it can’t quite manage to enforce uniform standards for conduct. And the people running it have a tendency towards being jackwagons, and not just about the obvious stuff; they keep trying to get you to use their product in a particular way, when there’s no real need for it to be used in that particular way. And so on, and so on, and so on…
So why do I use it? Because it’s a great way to find unusual things that are also cool. That’s what Twitter should try to encourage. Funky Weird Sh.. Stuff.
