In the Mail: The Sea Peoples.

SM Stirling’s The Sea Peoples is a day early, because Amazon works when the Post Office doesn’t. I can’t help but think that the Post Office should worry about that more. Or that I think that Amazon’s more reliable about things, too.

  1. FedEx UPS DHL…they all exist because of the rules from congress that hamstrung the postal service from actually servicing people. i.e. the post office owns no planes – a sop/bribe to the early air carriers guaranteeing them daily freight charges. Similarly as you observed, the post office is forbidden by both law and contact from working on federal holidays. It’s not that the post office doesn’t compete. Out can’t.
