Got a cough? Eat some chocolate.

As I said on Facebook, THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED: “A research group from Hull University in England randomly prescribed more than 160 patients either regular cough medicine or a chocolate-based medicine.  Patients on the chocolate-based medication reported improving more quickly than those on regular cough syrup.”  I mean, sure, in seven years or so they’ll come back and tell you that chocolate isn’t good for a cough after all.  But that’s, like, seven years or so from now, man.  In the meantime you’ve got SCIENCE to back your play.

Hrm. I should probably go and make sure that I prevent a cough.  Yes, that would be smart and healthy of me, for certain.

  1. Underreported is the fact that since the NIH is involved, any patients who failed to improve were doctor-murdered.

  2. “I mean, sure, in seven years or so they’ll come back and tell you that chocolate isn’t good for a cough after all.”

Good to know that there are others in this world who understand today’s science.

    1. Perhaps, but those are also the same killjoys who refuse to concede that mashed potatoes is in fact a vegetable puree’.
