Huh. This dude can call cats, and they come over.

I know I’m supposed to be sad about this dude, but I’m not. He seems happy, he’s doing a decent thing (feeding stray cats), and — this is the crazy thing — he calls cats, and they come over. No, really.

Via FarkĀ Geek. I mean, seriously: getting a cat to show that much enthusiasm on cue? I mean, sure, they come when they want to be fed; but to wait until they’re called? Dude’s got some skills.

PS: It is entertaining how the comments section of Fark — a noted wretched hive of scum and villainy — is having none of this ‘FAIL’ tag, either. They seem to be turning to bask in the example of that nice Japanese dude in the way that flowers turn to the light. It’s very sweet, really.

  1. Just as an aside, here’s what Amazon is recommending me under this post: The Stray Cats’ Greatest Hits, the Rock This Town MP3, moe.’s “In A Big Country” (moe. has been around for thirty years apparently, but this is the first I’ve ever heard of them), Disney’s “Geek Charming” movie, the Mike Meyer Cat int he HAt movie and “The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Camping!”

It’s like every ad is close but still so far away.

  2. “I can summon spirits from the vasty deep!”
“So can I, or any man, but do they come when you do call them?”

I knew that Shakespeare class I took in college would come in handy.

  3. I feel like the Japanese Fae (or equivalent) have marked thise gentleman as “worthy of attention by beasts”. I shall not be convinced otherwise.
