I didn’t know I needed that until just now. *Totally* backing it. I may even play /that/ fantasy RPG again just to use it.
1st Edition of That Game had ceiling mimics (the Lurker Above), floor mimics (Trapper), shadowy alcove mimics (Cloaker, iirc), bag mimics (Bag of Devouring), and even sort of an “empty corridor mimic” (if a Gelatinous Cube that filled the corridor wasn’t currently in the process of dissolving anything, it was supposed to be hard to tell that it was there). I’ve no idea how many of them carried forward into later editions of the game, though.
