Loonnnnng day today.

But a productive one. Field coordinating events is mostly making sure that the list field is large enough and the fencers don’t have to walk too far to be safety-checked and that nobody’s camping near the archery range. Oh, and fitting in last-minute pavilions because people looked at the weather forecast and said, Welp. We’re gonna need a tent for this one. I’d love to know the precise moment when I became a responsible adult, and whether there were any anomalous sensor readings going on then.

Happy to do it, gotta go back tomorrow to make sure the site’s clean, and then I’m done for the rest of the day. Fortunately, the kids are on Spring Break and my wife’s on vacation, so I can turn off the alarm for a week.

  1. Responsible adult is like a set of skills that come together in gurps (sorry, all my girls knowledge comes from your occasional posts of character write-ups); you can acquire all of them separately and don’t even get a discount for buying them together, but buying them all at once means you don’t forget any.

Were I to guess, marriage, children, and homeownership slowly forced you to become responsible. I doubt there is an instant we could point to as when it happened.
