A Pictureless Thanksgiving.

No cameras at the table. We had a very good time of it, though. I used the Roast Chicken recipe from An Unexpected Cookbook, my wife made the stuffing, we roasted the potatoes in the chicken drippings, and steamed up some green beans for vitamins. The bird came out fine and the potatoes were just about perfect*. We had a very nice family dinner with our two kids, and somebody else gets to unload and load the dishwasher for once.

This is rather nicer than traveling.

*My wife also made a blackberry pie, but she announced quite hurriedly after eating a slice that it was horrible and that nobody else should touch it. I intend to test this later, with vanilla ice cream.

  1. As with all such things, the path to a “perfect” pie means you keep trying, but never quite get there ;-).
