When you hire people who don’t like sports, to write about sports, in a magazine dedicated to sports, you’re actively destroying your own business.

SI died years ago, and it was by suicide.
They failed to adapt to the internet age the same way Sears and a host of other businesses did, and then over-corrected themselves in a failure spiral of politics and automation.
Having read all of the comments below, a total of ONE person talked about being a current subscriber. Everyone else was “I stopped xxx years ago”.
What we’re now witnessing is akin to an impromptu wake for an old friend none of us saw since high school. We’re getting together to tell stories right now, but even so, none of us will ever visit the grave.
