I understand that this particular situation is weird and complicated, but dammit: physical discs are harder to deactivate.

I’m severely irritated that I didn’t rip a bunch of cds before they started to rot.
(Not to mention ash the ones that have disappeared.)
I have a couple boxes of 45 rpm records (and a turntable) next to the surviving boxes of CDs.
I had an email account through a small ISP and used it to set up my first iTunes account.. the ISP is gone and so is the domain .. I might have to buy it off the owners to fix my account.
Or .. there are software measures…

I have as a project to rip all of my (very many) CDs in lossless format.
I have the disk space, but it is still slow going.
