I have found something. I just don’t know what it is.
What’s fascinating about it is that it’s a very straightforward cartoon: if you see a guy wandering around wearing a shoe on his head, an inflatable pool tube around his waist, and carrying a bazooka, yeah, step back a few paces. This is not difficult. It’s why it’s one of the great THE FAR SIDE cartoons, and that is a title that must be earned.
But apparently it’s either: flying over the heads of people who seem to think that the bottom right quadrant is always referring to somebody else*; or else triggering AI-fueled spambots. I’m not sure which, honestly. I also don’t think it’ll lead to more book sales either way, so I’m not really sure if I care.

*I do not exempt myself. I am weird. I mention this because I am seeing a lot of weirdos trying to use ‘weird’ as a slur, invariably against people not as weird as they are. Ah, the Internet: where self-reflection goes to die.
Again, I do not exempt myself from this.

The best one is still the School for the Gifted, with the child having trouble navigating the door.
Not to get close to the line, but the media echo chamber has been trying to paint one of the VP candidates as “weird”.
So what you’re witnessing might be carryover.
