I have an opinion on an alternate history series…

…only thing is, I don’t sell enough books to be able to effectively offer it. I mean, yeah, it’s a free country. I’m allowed to sneer. But it’ll still just come across as sour grapes; and, if we’re being brutally honest about it, that impression might not be completely wrong.

So. Buy my books! Allow me the luxury of a good writer’s feud!

PS: George RR Martin doesn’t count. Everybody in the industry’s pissed at that guy, at some level. He’s one of the major reasons people have to say that their book isn’t the first one in an epic fantasy series. (Even when it totally is.)

  1. Larry Correia is evidently using, “See George? It’s not that hard.” as the dedication for the sixth and final Son of the Black Sword series.

That his publisher is letting him, speaks volumes.

  2. If only people who sell a lot of books should offer their opinions, that leaves us with J.K. Rowling, Stephen King, James Patterson, and…Colleen Hoover? Maybe you could add in a couple of others. Certainly I would rather hear your opinion than Christopher Paolini’s. Somehow, that pile of hot garbage he excreted onto the page sold a lot of books, which tells me that selling a lot of books isn’t the best metric. For anything, really.
