I’ve always abhorred even the word hashtag, let alone the concept and company behind it.
Devils advocate in me says is it just a response to toxic media or is it more a control aspect by the companies to direct consumers to sites they own and control rather than filtering them through a third party?

This needs some discussion .. it looks like advertisers are taking Moe’s advice and are backing away (and not slowly) from increasingly toxic social media…
