I have worn safety glasses for the past 20 years (lab and industrial QA.) It is always amazing to me people who will not wear PPE.

Only close call I ever had was decanting caustic soda (~48% NaOH) from a barrel into a bucket. The soda hit the bottom of the bucket and splashed up a little bit. As I felt the soda burning on my cheek I noticed a healthy sized drop right in the center of the safety glasses.
