It’s not like he got actually mugged, or anything. Just robbed while taking mass transit.
I mean, sure, the incident suggests that San Francisco is a crime-ridden disaster, but what Democratic-controlled urban area isn’t, these days? Shoot, the current unemployment rate of Mayor Johnson’s Sacramento itself was 12.3% in August. That’s almost double what it was a year ago; when did you get elected, again?

PS: It’s nice that you’re taking mass transit, by the way. Although I have to wonder: how many of your constituents would rather that you knocked down local unemployment a couple of notches, instead?
PPS: Yes, this is the guy that got AG Gerald Walprin fired.

Karma, it’s whats for dinner.
“I mean, sure, the incident suggests that San Francisco is a crime-ridden disaster, but what Democratic-controlled urban area isn’t, these days?”
Correct as always Moe. Democratic strongholds like Wichita, Albuquerque, and Tulsa are just above SF in the FBI violent crime rankings.
Wow. Thanks for letting me know that stung!
…or maybe the joke’s on me: all three of those municipalities are Democratic strongholds. Very clever, if that was the intent.
Dudes, that video doesn’t play. What’s wrong with Youtube?
Tulsa is a democrat stronghold? I live here and I will note this state has always been red in national elections.
Dr. Tom Coburn represents my district and, as I seem to recall, he isn’t one of those liberals. James Inhofe also does not strike me as a liberal. Sure, the mayor is a liberal operating under restraint because it ISN’T a ‘Liberal Stronghold’. But the muder rate has gone up since we had a democrat mayor so maybe John3 has a point of sorts.
Urban areas lean democrat, but that doesn’t mean they are strongholds. As Steve pointed out, the mayor and city council may be unable to do much without help from the state government. Many suburban and rural Republican strongholds also have serious crime issues. My initial post was to twist things a bit as the cities I listed are not stereotypical “democratic strongholds”. And the story about Mayor Johnson is pretty amusing.
Yeah, John3, I agree: it did suck that your snark blew up in your face. Lesson to us all: research before you sneer. Don’t be like this guy, or your humble host.
Moe Lane
PS: And since John3 here actually did mean to be rude to said humble host… bye!
Well, John3… isn’t that a puzzle? Tulsa is a ‘democrat stronghold’ that isn’t a ‘democrat stronghold’. I guess you ‘twisted’ something but I hope you didn’t sprain it too badly.
