Although my wife doesn’t know if this is any worse than just picking up the cat by the scruff of the neck. And she’s the one who knows cats. I just like having ’em around.

I am given to understand that you *can* injure a cat if you scruff them improperly. This looks like it has a much lower chance of injury for all involved, and might be easier to learn how to use. Probably not as effective, though. Dunno if it would be easier for somebody with arthritic hands, but maybe that, too?
Considering I have to cut the claws of ours, I see a lot to like about the contraption.
