Although… I do still enjoy listening to Cygnus X-1. After all, how many rock songs are there about journeying through a black hole?
Ah, but did you ever play VidGrid to it on the Atari Jaguar?
The song went to #1, and has the distinction of having the longest guitar solo ever in a #1 single.
My question is: If you bothered to get real strings and a real flute for the video, why not use real strings and a real flute on the song?
I spent months trying to find the deeper meaning in Genesis’s song “Carpet Crawlers”. It had to be there. A song so beautiful HAD to be deep. Decades later I learned how angry Phil Collins and the rest were because they could not figure out Peter Gabriele’s crap lyrics either.
