  1. you’ld think that if you were running for office and there was a thing that made you look bad and (probably) hurt you in the polls, you would not volentarily continue to talk about that thing…It seems that she really, truely believes this and has a lot of her notion of self wrapped up in the idea. In liberal victim politics, if she doesn’t have that 1/32 thread to hold on to, what does she have?.

  2. Pity may be appropriate, maybe even empathy and in some cases even outreach, but I agree, no mercy. They must be defeated in detail through any ethical means.

  3. No need for a slaughter rule, Moe.

Just need for you and Treacher and Ace and the rest to start .. sifting through the history of the other potential candidate.

To JeffV’s point above, that rule usually only applies to Republicans. (see Mel Reynolds, Marion Berry)

  4. I thought she was, by the progressive definition of “woman”, already a member of a repressed people group. Why does she need a 2nd thing? Does anyone know if she told Harvard she was gay in order to hit the affirmative action trifecta?

  5. What I haven’t figured out is why some Republican public-spirited commentator hasn’t pointed out the deep issue here: Affirmative action is supposed to benefit minorities. If you’re a minority, Elizabeth Warren stole your place — an opening that was supposed to be held for the benefit of minority applicants went to Yet Another Slice of Whitebread. Is it the first time? Do you care? If not, why not?

  6. Remember, she’s special.

She’s a Lactating Cherokee Lawyer. I’ve always wanted one of those, but my local convenience store always seems to be out of stock…

  7. Ric, that very point has been pointed out by many folks already. It has not escaped the attention of ACTUAL minorities…

  8. I’m surprised that there is no twitter feed or blog dedicated to Elizabeth Warren facts. Such as the one where her second cousin on her illegitimate step-uncle’s side planted the flag on Mars.

  9. Affirmative action is supposed to benefit minorities.

Not according to the Supreme Court, it isn’t. Minority members are supposed to be favored in order to provide a richly diverse multicultural experience for… white people. Using affirmative action programs to benefit minorities, per se, is supposedly illegal discrimination. (This week. Next week, who knows.)

Which means that under current legal doctrine, the people with a beef would be the white people who were cruelly deprived of the rich multiculturalism of having a law professor who was less pale than Elizabeth Warren. Which doesn’t make much sense, but then neither does the rest of this situation.

  10. “My father’s family so objected to my mother’s Native American heritage that my mother told me they had to elope.

Interesting that this woman gets all huffy and offended for her parents’ honor when a story that she claims they told her is questioned … but at the same time, she’s willing to tell a story that paints her own grandparents as vile, contemptible racists. Go figure.
